I spent 8 years working a job I hated...here's how I finally broke free

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I used to work as a management consultant.

On paper, it was the “dream” job…

  • $250K+ salary

  • Prestigious firm

  • Fancy client meetings

  • Unlimited travel budgets

  • Success by society's standards

From age 21 → 29, I played the traditional career game about as well as one could.

But every Sunday night, my stomach would turn into knots. Maybe you empathize with this feeling…

Another week of:

  • Building someone else's dreams

  • Trading my best hours for a fixed paycheck

  • Endless meetings about meetings

  • Being told when to work, where to work, how to work

I knew it wasn’t for me, but I was trapped with the golden handcuffs. Just enough money to feel crazy for leaving, not enough money to buy freedom.

And the worst part of all?

I was stuck in a rigged game.

No matter how hard I worked or how much value I created...my upside was permanently capped.

As an A-player, this infuriated me.

My best case? A 10% raise. Maybe a promotion every few years if I played nice with the right people.

Meanwhile, my bosses were capturing the majority of the value and building exponential wealth from my efforts.

No leverage. No freedom. No joy.

This is textbook incentive misalignment — the last place you want to be if you’re ambitious.

Then one day, it hit me...

Something had to change.

I had tried launching business after business on the side, but they all lacked one critical ingredient…distribution.

So I started experimenting with making content on the side.

Just a few hours a day, before and after work.

I figured, if I could learn how to win with content, I could build a dozen different businesses on the back of it.

I’ll be honest, the first few months were incredibly rough.

I had never made a video before, so the learning curve was incredibly steep trying to figure it out on my own.

But finally, something clicked...

A few months in, my videos started getting traction.

I studied the algorithms and learned how to hack viewer psychology to make people share.

My storytelling skills improved. My visual packaging improved.

Brands started reaching out. The income started trickling in…

9 months later (still working my day job), I'd:

  • Grown from 0 to 320K followers

  • Generated $30K in brand deals

  • Created a storytelling flywheel that actually worked

So I took the leap…I quit.

The second happiest day of my career was quitting that job.

The first happiest was the next day…day 1 of the rest of my life.

Fast forward, it’s been 16 months since I went full-time:

  • I made $31K last month (said no to 99% of deals)

  • I have $110K of brand deals in my inbox right now

  • I grew to 700K+ followers with 1B+ views and top 1% engagement

  • I’ve become one of the best in the world at short-form storytelling

  • I love playing my game every single day

But here's what's crazy...

Despite all that I’ve accomplished so far, I made a million of mistakes.

Went down wrong paths. Wasted months figuring things out alone. I call this the Wandering Phase and I spent months lost in it.

If I had the right guidance, I could have:

  • Grown 5-10x faster

  • Made at least 3x more money

  • Avoided months of trial and error, potholes and missteps

That's exactly why I’m building Short Form Academy – to give others the blueprint, community, and proven system I wish I had when I started.

And I’ll be honest, I went back and forth on whether I should launch this…I hate nothing more than sleazy internet marketers stealing people’s money on courses that don’t have the knowledge required to actually accomplish your goals.

Trust me, I’ve paid for my fair share of these and been consistently disappointed.

But the truth is, I have the answers and want to share them.

So tomorrow, I'll show you the exact model that changed everything for me (and why it's simpler than you might think).

For now, just know this: You don't have to stay trapped in a rigged game, trading your time for money.

There is a way out.

Do you want to keep building someone else's dreams?

Or is it finally time to build your own?

P.S. If you want to secure your founder spot in the Academy before they’re all taken and rates increase, reply "freedom" and I'll send you the details
